Your Best Foot Forward
Calling all tired, aching feet! Have you been neglected? Are you feeling not so loved? After all you do bear the weight of your owner’s body right?
Your feet are well and truly a part of your body that should be treated with extra love, especially over the warmer summer months with endless amounts of sandal and thong (flip flops for our overseas readers) torture.
So we have put together a little step by step guide to help you keep on top of some foot lovin’ TLC. Trust us, your feet will thank you!
WASH YOUR FEET DAILY
Just a couple of seconds of warm soapy water and a massage a day keep the ugly toes at bay! Make sure you dry extremely well between your toes to prevent any product build up and infections. Trapped moisture between the toes provides the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and infection.
MOISTURISE YOUR FEET REGULARLY
Moisturising on a regular basis will help to keep feet soft, smooth and prevent dryness and cracking. However it is really important to avoid rubbing any moisturiser between your toes as this can increase the risk of any infections such as fungal infection. Use a good quality moisturiser enriched with ingredients such as vitamin e and cocoa butter.
We recommend The Body Shop’s Peppermint Intensive Cooling Foot Rescue
REMOVE DRY, DEAD SKIN
Using a pumice stone and a salt or sugar scrub in the shower once a week will soon show some amazing results to those feet of yours. Try and make this a weekly priority especially if you are a stiletto lovin’ lady.
We recommend NATIO Spa One Minute Miracle Body Polish.
CUT TOE NAILS STRAIGHT ACROSS
Something so simple can make a very big difference to overall foot health and appearance. Cutting down on the edges of the toe nail increases the risk of ghastly ingrown toenails and no one wants any of them! Always ensure to cut toe nails as straight as possible.
A GOOD QUALITY FOOT PEEL
A foot peel is basically a chemical peel for your feet and they are quite effective! Especially for those of us with calluses and dry, hard skin on our feet. Try to look for a foot peel that contains a few natural ingredients as well as the active AHAs like glycolic acid and lactic acid.
We recommend Skin Republic’s Foot Peel.
